1, 2, Skip a Few, 99, One Hundred!

So...
I'm sitting on 99 blog views for "Unremarkable Thoughts"... 99... such a powerful number, as everyone waits with baited breath for that magical number...
...
...
...
One hundred!

Makes me think (rather fondly) of that great song, "99 Red Balloons". What a classic, one of the 80's Greats!
Tight black leather pants.
Denim overload.
Men with teased perms.
Cheesy keyboard synths.
Blue eye-shadow.
...And Ninety-Nine red balloons go by...

C'mon.... let's take it to 100!

Memory Lane: Nasty Nokia's

When I was teenager, and I had a second-hand nokia....

Our service provider had this Pay-As-You-Go special, where the first 15 text messages every month were free... for a teenager, that was such a treat, and yet simply not enough.

I remember the feeling I used to get when my phone bleeped (that nasty old Nokia bleep that can never be forgotten), signalling that I had a message...

Excitement!
Someone is thinking of me!
Of me!!
Who could it be?
What are they thinking?!
Of me?!

You know the funny thing?

My phone has changed.
The bleep has changed to a far less nasty chirp.
My texts are no longer free.

But that feeling? The excitement...?

...Is exactly the same. :-)

Everyone loves to feel 'thought of'. Don't you?

Dream Jobs and Licorice

IMAGINE....

...A lifetime supply of licorice!

On a bi-weekly basis, I indulge in one stick of Panda All Natural Licorice. Mmmm. *happy face*

Facts about natural licorice...

It's flavoured from the root of the licorice plant, which grows as wild as a weed in the dry regions of Europe and Asia.
Panda All Natural Licorice is meticulously cooked in the same tradition that has been followed since it's inception in 1927.
Licorice is believed to have medicinal qualities and has been linked to reducing stress and enhancing relaxation of the mind.
All natural licorice is a great snack. Low in calories, no artificial flavourants and no colourants, no bleached sugar, no additional salt, and a trace amount of fat... it's a wonder this tasty treat has any flavour at all.

But flavour it does have! Not a single batch of Panda All Natural Licorice leaves the factory without being tasted by the Executive Licorice Master who, with his incredibly attuned taste-buds, is able to determine whether or not the batch lives up to the Panda standard.

Executive Licorice Master... What a job! A lifetime supply of licorice!

Some people have it all!

Check this out. Seriously. Check it.

My brother shared this link with me yesterday... Wow! I mean, WOW.

I cannot fathom how anyone could possibly think, in the face of all this beauty and intricacy, that this universe is an accident...

Now that's seriously remarkable.

Life Through the Lens: Chandelier Snowflake

I'm a bit of a photography nut... I'm an absolute novice, with a rather entry-level (but divine!) Canon digital SLR. Thing that I love about photography, especially with a decent camera, is that you can really capture the world around you in a way that your eyes don't even see. Seeing life through the lens..... well, you see so much more! (How is that even possible?)

And then, as if your brain realizes the error in its ways, your eyes start to see things in the same light! Before you know it, you're taking photo's of anything and every(unremarkable)thing, like an addict to sight.

I will never look at a chandelier the same... in fact, whenever I see one, I don't think I will be able resist the urge to run directly underneath it and look straight up, just to see what kind of snowflake it looks like.

This chandelier can be found at my place of work, and isn't it just lovely from this angle...? (Click on it to see it in full size)

Imagine all the snowflake-chandelier images out there, just waiting to be captured!

Unremarkable Thoughts

"What are you thinking?" We all ask it. We're all asked it.

Arbitrary.
Fleeting.
Silly.
Sombre.
Lingering.
Spiteful.
Compassionate.
Intense.
Shallow.
Outrageous.

Often quite unremarkable.

Which I why seldom remark upon them.

But I'm starting to realize that even the most unremarkable thoughts say something about who I am inside, even if only a reflection of how I've experienced that particular moment in time.

What am I thinking?

Oh I think you'll wish you never asked.... ;)
